From the beginning me and my friend walked in the store the security stalked us and was aggressively following us asking if we needed help, over multiple times of repeatedly telling her i was ok and can find everything myself, if i need help i will ask a store worker she continued to stalk us within 4-6 feet exceeding the covid risks making us feel uncomfortable and unable to continue the process of our purchasesto the amount of interruptions and weird behaviour we refused to give our money and business here, its close to halloween but you dont have to scare your paying customers out of the store, i highly suggest EVERYONE take your business and money somewhere else this location is full disrespectful stalking un-trained stereotying insecure on edge personal she will probably have you empty your pockets before you arrive and after you leave very unpleasant experience

Large selection of office and household items. Nice store, but the security workers can be kind of intense sometimes. I don't necessarily blame them as the location tends to attract shoplifters, but it feels like a bit too much when you're just trying to browse.

Came in for paper shredding for personal & business sensitive documents. The staff are so friendly & helpful, shredding my paperwork while I shopped around for business supplies. Plenty of floor staff available, asking if I needed any help finding anything. Great location & quick friendly service!

I ordered a laptop online through their site. It was the last one in stock. It also said available for next day pick up. I waited until 4:30 to get the email stating it was ready for pick up. Instead, I got a phone call I missed with a voice-mail stating they had none in stocks. Also, voice-mail stated they went ahead and canceled the order before they called. I placed the order after closing hours when their website said "last on in stock. Available for next day pick up". Also tried to use the code for 10.00 off for a 100.00 purchase, which did not work. Went through another company for the exact same laptop and ended up saving money. Glad I took my business somewhere else.

I visited this location on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 17th 2023. Within a minute of entering the store, following a otherwise positive exchange with a cashier, I was approached by a security guard who started tailing me aggressively and offering to "help me find something." I promptly explained that I was just browsing, at which point, I was told that I was that "browsing was not allowed" I pushed back, inquiring how looking around the store for a specific product on my own could possibly not be allowed, leading the guard to explain to me that I "looking was okay" but to "only take 15 minutes." I am a respectful, paying customer; who came into this business looking to confirm that a pair wireless of headphones I was in the market for were on sale for the same Black Friday prices that I found on Staples' website. Instead of recieving a satisfying, helpful customer service experience; I was immediately targeted and harassed by an aggressive authority figure on a power trip... I never got the chance to speak to a REAL customer service representative and left the store within five minutes of the exchange; based on the discriminatory/unfair/presumptive nature of the treatment that I received from security - IF the product I was looking for was on sale in-store, it was not advertised properly, either, on top of everything else... Overall, I had a miserable, disappointing, and above all else, an insulting experience the last time I went to Staples - Chinook... I refuse to consider returning to this business in the future and I will be encouraging family, friends, and readers of this review to do the same. I am not going to stand for being stalked around a store, limited to 15-minute time intervals, for no good reason, so I took my money elsewhere and spent it on the product I was looking for - somewhere I was treated SIGNIFICANTLY more like a human being... Do better Staples - Chinook. The harassment that myself (and apparently MANY other customer's according to reviews) are recieving from the security staff under contract should be viewed as an embarrassing failure to provide suitable customer service. I am sympathetic for the security guards, considering the chaotic nature of the area surrounding Chinook station/mall, that being said, I was nothing but respectful and presentable when I entered the store... I will not stand for being singled out, interrogated, and harassed by anyone; regardless of the high demands' of their occupation. All I have to say is that as long as this issue with overly aggressive security continues to go unaddressed, I am not going to support Staples - Chinook anymore. Frankly, the treatment I received was unacceptable.

The Staples Chinook Centre location is terrible! On November 17th, I went to the Staples store across from Chinook Centre in Calgary and purchased three items: an adjustable table for $682, a HP laptop for $450 and a window software package for $130. I took the laptop and the software package home and did not open them. (The table was to be delivered to me). When I checked my email that night, I accidentally found out that the HP laptop I purchased only had a two-star rating. I went back to Staples the next day trying to return the laptop and the software package. The clerk refunded me for the laptop but said he could not refund the software package and got the sales manager to the counter. The sales manager told me the software package was final sale. I said nobody ever told me that. He said it was a software, everybody knew they were always final sale. I said I did not know. He said the information was printed on the back of the receipt. But one doesn’t get the receipt before making a purchase, right? By the time he/she paid for the item, it would be too late. I argued that when there’s a final sale, they should put a sign beside the item showing that. Also, the salesperson and the store clerks should tell the customer BEFORE she paid for the item, not to expect the customer to read the fine print on the back of the receipt afterward. I showed him I didn’t break the seal on the back of the software card. It was the proof that I did not use it. He said the software package was already activated. I asked him who did that since I didn’t. He didn’t answer me. I figured it was activated when I made the purchase. I asked him to deactivate it. Eventually, the sales manager said he would refund me but I was no longer allowed to go to that location. I received an email survey from Staple head office shortly after. I told them the story. I received a reply, saying that they could not find the evidence of my purchase even though I emailed the receipt to them. The person also said that software packages are not refundable once opened. I told her clearly in my first e-mail that I had never opened that package. After I told her for a second time, she asked me to contact the local store to resolve my problem. It was totally useless to complain to their head office. So, when their staff member didn’t do their job properly, the customer is punished. As a long-term customer to Staples, especially to that location because it is the nearest one to my house, I am officially banned from the store.
